EDITOR'S PICKS

Really love this water pitcher by Design Within Reach.  The charcoal purifies the water, while the stones add minerality.  I fill the pitcher and within a few minutes the water is perfectly clear and tastes great.  The glass design is attractive in the kitchen and on the table.  I prefer to not use plastic when purifiying drinking water and certainly have cut out all plastic water bottles ... this would be a great start to move in that direction.

OK, love these too.  Simply attractive and beautiful in the kitchen.  Any chef or food lover would appreciate these ...

Kitchen Tools

Endorsed by KitchenAid and Good Housekeeping, the E-cloth pack is a must-have in the kitchen.  When wet, the general purpose cloth grabs onto food particles and moisture instantly and leaves a clean surface.  The damp polishing cloth shines stainless steel to perfection.  Both are recommended to be used with water only. The cloths are a step above an average microfiber cloth.  What's not to love, effective, easy on the environment, and reduces wastes and costs.

Next on my list, the E-cloth Stove and Range kit:

These pot scrubbers really work:

These are made in Japan, by LEC International Corp.  Made of corn cobs and peach pits they work very well to take off stubborn spots on kitchen pans.  The pink is for more senstive surfaces such as teflon, the yellow, for surfaces such as stainless steel.  The design allows for your fingers to easily reach the rounded edges in the pans.  Really love these and at this price, a no brainer.

Try also, by LEC, the KITCHEN CLEANING PAD - Heavy-duty.  These will get off the most stubborns stains and charred residue.  They definitely will leave micro-scratches on your stainless steel.  This is fine with me, as I prefer a clean pan to a perfect pan.  I just picked these up on my field trip last Friday at Green Depot, but did not see it on their website yet.  With a little elbow grease, I was able to clean one of our stainless steel pans to perfection.
